As a volunteer, your role is one of an ambassador, a liaison to the patients and their families and an educator to the public. Positions are available at reception/information desks throughout the hospital, as patient representatives and helping with transporting patients.
Volunteers give their time and talents to the patients and staff while receiving many benefits. There is a deep feeling of personal fulfillment in being a volunteer, for in helping others we often help ourselves.
Sentara Albemarle Medical Center has been fortunate to have strong volunteer support from our community since 1951. We believe volunteers are a vital element in our effort to provide quality care for our patients. Many hours, as well as dollars, have been contributed by dedicated volunteers. The time spent as a volunteer benefits the entire community.
