Because cancer care typically involves many treatments from a wide range of doctors and specialists, it can be incredibly overwhelming - especially as you are trying to emotionally come to terms with your diagnosis and the journey ahead. That’s why several of our centers offer patients a dedicated medical professional called a cancer patient navigator or cancer care coordinator.
We know that getting to your appointments involves transportation, and we’ll assist you in finding transportation if you need it. Talk to your patient navigator or your care team for more information.
Understanding insurance claims, co-pays and the finances of your care can be confusing, but your team is here to help. Let your patient navigator or your care team know what you need, and what you need to know.
Hearing from other people living with cancer can help you know you aren’t alone, and it can help you know what to expect. Support groups for a number of different types of cancer are available and you can share feelings and tips with other people. There are also caregiver support groups and some of the support groups are even online.
