Jonathan Davis, FACHE, is the President of Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital. As President, Davis has focused his efforts on advancing the Caring Tradition by creating a "Culture of Always" and recruiting an extraordinarily talented multidisciplinary team of nurses and physicians.

Prior to joining Sentara in 2015, Davis served as President of Methodist Charlton Medical Center in Dallas. Under Davis' leadership, the hospital served five city rescue squads, treated 87,000 ER patients in 2014, grew to provide robotic surgery and cardiothoracic surgery, opened a new 128-bed tower including a 69-bed long-term care unit and adding a 14-bed hospice unit, all caring for more patients year-over-year. Davis has responsibility for and serves on the Board of Sentara Halifax Regional Medical Center. Davis has a strong belief in community engagement, currently serving on several community boards including the Thomas Jefferson Area-United Way, Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Virginia, Charlottesville Chamber of Commerce and The Center at Belvedere-Senior Center, all focused on improving the health of the community and region.

The core of Davis is his passion and desire to partner and engage the community, medical staff and employees in a journey to define and deliver safe and reliable best-in-class care. Davis serves on Sentara's Quality Care Network, a clinically integrated network focused on improving quality and access while reducing cost of care across Virginia. Davis has responsibility for and serves on the Board of Sentara Halifax Regional Medical Center. Davis has a strong belief in community engagement, currently serving on several community boards including the Thomas Jefferson Area-United Way, Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Virginia, Charlottesville Chamber of Commerce and The Center at Belvedere-Senior Center, all focused on improving the health of the community and region.

A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, Davis earned a B.S. in Physiology from Arkansas State University, a Masters in Physiology from Northern Arizona University and a Masters in Public Healthcare Administration from Tulane University and the University of Arkansas Medical School. Additionally, he is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Davis is supported by his wife Janet and his children Andrew, Sydney and Caroline.
