Sentara Healthcare continues to grow its robust healthcare provider team on the Peninsula with the addition of three physicians (M.D.), one physician assistant (PA-C) and one nurse practitioner (NP) to provide comprehensive care for our patients and members.

Daniel Assefa, M.D., Infectious Disease
As an infectious disease specialist, Dr. Daniel Assefa treats patients with infectious illnesses due to bacteria, fungal or parasite causes, HIV/AIDS, pneumonia, bone infections, tropical diseases and infectious complications from a variety of medical illnesses. He has a special interest in bacterial and viral diseases, as well as HIV care in the elderly. Dr. Assefa is board-certified in infectious disease and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is accepting new patients at his offices located on the Sentara CarePlex Hospital campus at 4,000 Coliseum Drive, Suite 310, Hampton, VA 23666.

Pam Flavin-Lee, PA-C, Cardiology
As a physician assistant, Pam Flavin-Lee works in collaboration with the entire team at Sentara Cardiology Specialists to provide patients with quality treatment for conditions affecting the heart and blood vessels. She is trained to perform physical exams, supervise and interpret stress tests and administer other measures of cardiac health, including echocardiograms and catheterizations. She is board-certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, a member of the American Academy off Physician Assistants and a registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer. Ikuko Laccheo, M.D. Neurology
Dr. Ikuko Laccheo is a fellowship trained neurologist in clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy. She diagnoses and treats a range of neurological conditions, such as stroke, dementia, migraines, and has a special interest in seizure disorders. She is board-certified in neurology, epilepsy, and clinical neurophysiology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology as well as in Clinical Neurophysiology with added competency in Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring and Epilepsy Monitoring by the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology. K. Sadler Meyers, M.D., General Surgery
Dr. K. Sadler Meyers is a general surgeon, performing a wide range of operations including upper and lower endoscopy, laparoscopic abdominal procedures, breast surgery as well as thyroid and parathyroid resections. His research background focuses in breast surgery, trauma surgery, cardiac surgery and molecular biology. Dr. Meyers strives to find the right balance between surgical and nonsurgical methods that maximize outcomes and recovery, while minimizing complications. Nancy Sullivan, NP, Palliative Care
As a nurse practitioner, Nancy Sullivan works with the entire Sentara Palliative Care Specialists team to partner with patients to improve their well-being and quality of life through pain and symptom management. She uses a holistic approach to care for patients in all disease stages, including those who are undergoing treatment for illnesses or living with chronic diseases, and those who are nearing the end of life. She is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is accepting new patients at her offices located in Sentara CarePlex Hospital at 3,000 Coliseum Drive, Suite 350, Hampton, VA 23666.
