Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center announces the opening of its newly completed surgery center. The center features nine modern perating rooms, pre-and postsurgical areas, as well as private waiting rooms.
Adjoining the hospital, this new center consolidates the hospital’s surgical services into a single perioperative site which results in better patient flow and a shorter wait time for patients and their families.
"The opening of our new state-of-the-art surgery center represents a major development for healthcare in the Northern Virginia market and emonstrates Sentara’s continuing commitment to exceptional patient care," said Steve Porter, president and of Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center. "From
the planning stage, the purpose of this entire expansion was to provide our patients with the best care available. Every decision was made in partnership with our surgeons and perioperative team with the patient’s well-being in mind."
"Our new ORs are designed to help our surgeons deliver the best, most efficient patient care. With the larger rooms, we will be able to easily accommodate larger surgical teams and more sophisticated equipment. This means that our patients can take advantage of more complex surgical procedures without leaving the comfort of their hometown," Porter said.
Dr. Arthur Vayer, a surgeon with Sentara Surgery Specialists echoes Porter’s sentiments.
"I am excited about the ability to provide my patients a world class surgical experience in Woodbridge. The new surgery center introduces the newest technologies and provides us room to grow all while keeping the needs of the patient at the center of what we do."
The opening of the new surgical center is a continuation of the Sentara commitment to serve Northern Virginia.
The new surgical center will allow Sentara to provide for both the current and future needs of our growing community.
