NOTE: At Sentara the safety of our Volunteers is our highest priority, therefore at this time recruitment for Volunteers is temporarily on hold.
Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center has approximately 300 active volunteers who assist in nearly all departments throughout the organization. Our adult and junior volunteers have the desire to help others and be involved in helping their community. They give graciously of their time to support the Sentara mission: We improve health every day.

The dedicated members of the Auxiliary provide assistance throughout the facility, operate the gift shop and coordinate fundraising activities to benefit our patients and their families. The Auxiliary also sponsors the Love Light Tree, which gives community members a chance to honor a loved one or special friend during the holiday season.
In addition to supporting the Sentara mission, the Auxiliary offers a wonderful chance to meet new and interesting people. There are several social activities each year that allow members to get to know each other.
