Sentara Wound Healing Center

Nearly all of us, at some point in our lives, have had a wound such as a cut, a graze, a burn or a surgical incision. The normal healing process can be disrupted for many reasons and some wounds can take months to heal, increasing the risk of infection, limb loss, even the loss of life.

healing or chronic wounds. Diseases such as diabetes or vascular problems, medications, infections and poor nutrition can prevent a wound from fully healing.

We offer comprehensive care for several types of chronic wounds, including but not limited to arterial and venous ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, diabetic neuropathic ulcers, traumatic wounds, pressure ulcers, post-surgical wounds, connective tissue disorders, auto-immune related wounds, cancer-related wounds, and peripheral vascular disease or venous stasis-related ulcers.
