Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital marked a major milestone in the construction of its new hospital with a traditional topping off ceremony, celebrating the placement of the final steel beam atop the structure. The event brought together hospital leaders, employees, volunteers, and construction partners from W.M. Jordan Company to mark the event.

In the weeks leading up to the ceremony, colleagues and volunteers were invited to sign the final steel beam, leaving their names and messages of encouragement as a lasting symbol of pride and collaboration. The topping off ceremony was held Tuesday, Jan. 6.

Hospital President David Masterson recognized the collective efforts of hospital employees, construction crews, and partners who have contributed to the project’s progress to date.
