Sentara Health appoints two new members to its Board of Directors

Nancy Bagranoff and Thomas Hasty III bring experience in business and civic leadership

Sentara Health has named two new members to its Board of Directors.

Dr. Nancy Bagranoff is a certified public accountant and academic leader with extensive experience in education, accounting information systems, and public service. She earned her doctorate in accounting from The George Washington University. She has served as dean of the business schools at the University of Richmond and Old Dominion University and taught at American University and Miami University. She is currently a professor at the University of Richmond.

Dr. Bagranoff is recognized for her leadership in business education and her commitment to community service. This includes board service as chair of Chamber RVA, president of the American Accounting Association, member of the Board of Directors of the AICPA and the AACSB, and a former member of the Virginia governor’s Advisory Council on Revenue Estimates.

Thomas Hasty III is a founding member of TowneBank, as well as senior executive vice president and chief regulatory risk officer. He has more than 25 years of leadership in banking and financial services and is recognized for his regulatory compliance expertise. He previously held executive roles at BB&T. He obtained a B.S. from Hampton University.

Hasty is recognized for his civic leadership. This includes leading initiatives on health equity, community engagement, and board service with the Virginia Resources Authority, the Urban League of Hampton Roads, and Chesapeake Bay Academy.

The Sentara Board of Directors includes a diverse group of business executives, physicians, and community leaders serving Sentara’s not-for-profit mission.

Both new board members terms began on April 1.
