Sentara announces three new c-suite leaders
New hires include president of acute & post-acute care division, president of ambulatory division, and chief consumer officer
Sentara Health, an integrated, not-for-profit health care delivery system, based in a Hampton Roads, Va., is expanding its focus on the continuum of care for members and patients and our commitment to improve health every day with the arrival of three new leaders for acute & post-acute care division, ambulatory division, and a chief consumer officer.
The acute & post-acute care and ambulatory division reported previously to Sentara’s chief operating officer and were updated to increase integration with Sentara Health Plans as part of our operational model update and One Sentara transformation efforts.
The chief consumer officer is new to the organization. This position will evolve existing capabilities and build new relationships with our patients, members, and community. All three positions will report directly to Sentara’s President and Chief Executive Officer Dennis Matheis.
Eric Conley has been hired as executive vice president and president for acute & post-acute care. Conley comes to Sentara from Froedtert ThedaCare Health in Wisconsin where he was president of the south region, and president of Froedtert Hospital.
Conley brings 30 years of healthcare leadership and expertise to Sentara. At Froedtert, he led the largest hospital in the state, a level I trauma center and the primary teaching hospital of the Medical College of Wisconsin. He was also responsible for their community hospital division, which consists of seven neighborhood and community hospitals. Conley’s career includes operational leadership, service line management, program development, and strategic planning at health systems throughout the country, including KentuckyOne Health, MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center, and Duke University Health System.
Conley received a Bachelor of Science in Hospital Administration from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, and a Master of Health and Hospital Administration from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He has served on numerous professional and nonprofit boards including the National Association of Health Services Executives (current National Vice Chair), the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, and the Midwest chapter of the American Heart Association.
He joined the organization in April.
Prasanna Mohanty has been hired as executive vice president and president for ambulatory. Mohanty comes to Sentara from Providence Health System’s Providence Clinical Network in California where he was the chief operating officer.
Mohanty brings more than 20 years of expertise from peer integrated delivery systems including Kaiser Permanente, Sutter Health, and Cedars-Sinai Health System. He has managed clinical operations, developed and executed health, hospital, and ambulatory strategic plans, grew programs in new markets, and led financially successful Medicaid/Medicare programs.
Mohanty received an MPH/MBA in Healthcare Management & Finance from Boston University Questrom School of Business, an MS in Health Informatics from University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, and an MS in Population Heath from University of Michigan School of Public Health.
He joined the organization in May.
Adam Holyk has been hired as executive vice president and chief consumer officer. Holyk comes to Sentara from Walgreens Corporation in Illinois where he was senior vice president of strategy.
His extensive knowledge of consumer experience, strategy, marketing, data analytics and brand development will make him an invaluable addition to Sentara. Holyk will play a pivotal role in shaping our consumer experience strategy, enhancing customer loyalty, and supporting the successful realization of our One Sentara transformation.
Holyk is experienced in leading the development of growth models and key corporate partnerships, identifying opportunities, and prioritizing investments. During his tenure at Walgreens, he held various leadership positions, including Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, where he spearheaded the successful repositioning and relaunching of the Walgreens brand. Previously, he led corporate strategy across global markets, and leveraged consumer insights to build customer loyalty.
Holyk received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Guelph, a Master of Business Administration from York University, and a Juris Doctor degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, all located in Ontario, Canada.
He joined the organization in May.
