Postpartum support & connection: A nurse-led peer group

Navigating the transition into parenthood can be overwhelming, but you don't have to do it alone. Join our supportive community for expectant parents and those within their first year postpartum.

This group is led by Sentara nurse navigators and lactation specialists who have completed advocacy training through Postpartum Support Virginia. We offer a compassionate space to share experiences, gain reassurance, and find community with others walking a similar path.

What to expect:

Community connection: A safe place to discuss the trials of motherhood, breastfeeding, and pumping.

Supportive guidance: Peer-based support for managing the common adjustments of the "fourth trimester" and beyond.

Navigational help: While this group is not a treatment center for mental health emergencies, our trained nurse-leads are here to provide resources and assist you in finding the appropriate professional care if more intensive support is needed.
