Commitment to patient-centered care is the backbone of Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital. Fueled by the expertise of a well-established medical staff representing more than two dozen specialties, Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital remains focused on excellent care — a tradition which has been carried throughout the hospital's 60-plus year history.
Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital meets the standards and requirements of all local, state and federal licensing agencies. We voluntarily submit to evaluations of our compliance with nationwide healthcare standards on a continuing basis. Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital, Sentara Home Health, Sentara Halifax Hospice and Palliative Care, and the Sentara Behavioral Health Services are accredited by The Joint Commission.* Our licensing and accreditation ensures that Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital practices continual monitoring to provide you with quality health care.
In an effort to provide a full network of care across our five-county service area, we have numerous other healthcare facilities, too.
For the diagnosis and management of your medical needs and coordination of your care, our primary care and specialty care physicians have you and your family covered. In addition to primary care, areas of specialty include dental, ear, nose and throat, general surgery, hematology and oncology, neurology, orthopedics, pediatrics and urology.
Our long-term care affiliates focus on resident-directed, person-centered care and support resident autonomy, independence and individuality. Residents enjoy a homelike environment with specially trained staff offering state-of-the-art care to residents.
Finally, we also understand there are many types of specialized care, ranging from home health care following a hospital stay, to hospice care for those living with a terminal illness. Our home health and hospice services provide varying levels of care based on patient needs and they work closely with healthcare providers to ensure outstanding care and comfort.
