Surgery - Cardiothoracic, General Surgery


Dr. Kemp is board certified in general surgery and thoracic surgery and has been named a "Top Doctor" by Coastal Virginia Magazine. He specializes in all aspects of adult cardiac surgery including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repair and replacement, transcatheter valve replacement (TAVR/TMVR), aortic aneurysm repair, heart failure, mechanical circulatory support (LVAD/ECMO) and heart transplantation. He also specializes in general and oncologic thoracic surgery.


In his free time, Dr. Kemp and his wife Jean, a dermatopathologist in the U.S. Navy, enjoy spending time with their two children and trips down to the Outer Banks, where Dr. Kemp has spent time growing up.
