Did you know that one out of three Americans may have a sleep disorder? Could you?
Almost everyone has experienced an occasional sleepless night, or has had trouble falling asleep from time to time. But for many people, getting a full night of sound, restful sleep is a real challenge that may even place them at risk for serious health problems. Fortunately, most sleep disorders are highly treatable.
Sentara Sleep Medicine Specialists provides evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of disorders that occur during sleep, as well as disorders that affect alertness, in a comfortable, state-of-the-art facility located on South Main Street in Harrisonburg. Our staff is composed of board certified sleep medicine physicians and nurse practitioners.
If you or your healthcare provider suspect that you may have a sleep disorder, the Sentara Medicine Specialists are here for you. Treatment begins with a consultation. Patients meet with one of our board certified sleep medicine providers to assess any possible sleep disorders.

Your provider will typically refer you to our Sentara Sleep Center for testing. Our sleep lab is AASM (American Academy of Sleep Medicine) certified and is staff with sleep technologists, all of whom are registered polysomnographic technologists and/or licensed respiratory care practitioners.
The Sentara Sleep Center is housed in the same location as our Sentara Sleep Medicine Specialists at 1661 South Main Street, Harrisonburg, Virginia.
The sleep laboratory itself, which houses the bedrooms used for sleep studies, is a newly renovated space containing four sleep rooms, which are equipped with queen-sized beds, televisions, private bathrooms, and individual thermostats. Following each sleep study, patients enjoy a continental breakfast before going home.
