STOP THE BLEED® Course
No matter how fast professional emergency responders arrive, bystanders will always be the first on the scene. A person who is bleeding can die from blood loss within five minutes, therefore it is important to quickly stop blood loss.
The American College of Surgeons STOP THE BLEED® course has prepared more than 2.6 million people worldwide on how to stop bleeding in a severely injured person. Through this course, you’ll prepare yourself to help injured people following a traumatic event.
What You'll Learn

- How to use your hands to apply pressure to a wound.
- How to pack a wound to control bleeding.
- How to correctly apply a tourniquet. These three techniques will empower you to assist in an emergency and potentially save a life.
