Teresa L. ‘Terrie’ Edwards has been corporate vice president for the Sentara Health Peninsula and Western Tidewater regions since June 1, 2016.
From 2008 to June 2016, Edwards was president of Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, site of the world’s largest clinical trial in the use of copper-infused surfaces and linens to control hospital-acquired infections while the 1977 hospital was being replaced and modernized within its own footprint.
Edwards has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare administration. She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Edwards holds a bachelor’s degree in public administration from James Madison University and a Masters in Health Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.
